Propeller and Musicians on Call flew Alex Heil and a friend to Atlanta to attend a private soundcheck with Judah & The Lion.

Here's what Alex had to say about the experience...

Propeller: How did you find out about Propeller and what type of actions did you complete to earn points towards winning this experience?

Alex: So much of the social, environmental and political activism I take part in originates with Propeller. I believe it was an Incubus post that originally turned me on to the site. Per the experience, I was browsing the site one day when I stumbled upon Musicians On Call. I watched a couple videos of Judah & the Lion play for kids at a hospital. I had this deja vu moment where I pictured myself telling people that I had won, so I decided to put a lot of my points toward the experience. When I found out that I won, I was in a work meeting and I shouted and everyone asked if I was okay :D

Propeller: What was the highlight of your time in Atlanta?

Alex: Definitely the soundcheck and meeting the band. My girlfriend and I had never been to Atlanta, and we used every hour to explore as much as we could, from the botanical gardens to Centennial Park and favorite restaurants of the locals.

Propeller: Did you meet Judah & The Lion? How was this experience?

Alex: Yes! It's something we will never forget. We chatted for a bit after their soundcheck and they all seemed like great guys. I forgot to tell them this, but if they ever need a pretty good ocarina player, I think we'd make a dynamic foursome.

Propeller: How was watching the band soundcheck?

Alex: Everything was coordinated beautifully. Besides the managers and tech, to be the only ones in the theatre…it's like we were part of the performance.

Propeller: Why is Musicians On Call important to you?

Alex: Marvin Gaye sang that music is the soul of the man. When you feed your soul with music you can find hope. Music and especially live music has given me so much hope and to see what Musicians on Call does for patients really resonated with me.
