Winner Recap: Attend Hometown Rising Country Music & Bourbon Festival as a VIP

August 13th, 2019

Bryce from Indiana won a trip to Hometown Rising. After the festival, we caught up with him to hear all about his experience...

Propeller: How did you find out about Propeller and what type of actions did you complete to earn points towards winning this experience?

BRYCE: I found out about Propeller through Instagram ads. The main action that I did in order to earn points towards this experience was donating towards To Write Love On Her Arms as well as the Alzheimer's Association.

Propeller: What was the highlight of your time at Hometown Rising?

BRYCE: There were a lot of highlights at the festival. Getting the setlist from Little Big Town, getting a high five from Tim McGraw during his performance when he came down to our section during a performance. The list could go on, but I think the best part was the people of the festival. I have been to many festivals, but this one had the nicest people out of any that I have gone to.

Propeller: What was your favorite performance and why?

BRYCE: My favorite performance from the weekend was probably Little Big Town. My friend and I were so close to the stage and not only was the performance amazing, but afterwards I was given the setist from the show. All of it together made the performance amazing and my favorite from the festival.

Propeller: Which was your favorite part of your time in Louisville?

BRYCE: Apart from the festival, getting to explore the city was pretty cool. We went to a lot of local places for food and it was nice to get a taste of the city in our short time there. Getting to see things such as the stadium as well as the amusement park that were all less than a 5 minute drive from our hotel was also amazing.

Propeller: Which non-profits at Propeller are most important to you and why?

BRYCE: The two non profits that I find the most important are the Alzheimer's Association as well as To Write Love on her Arms. My grandmother had Alzheimers, so having seen firsthand what the disease could do to a person made this non profit all the more personal for me. To Write Love on her Arms is also important to me as I have struggled with depression, and so I like to give back to organizations that help others who have also struggled as I have.

Propeller: Is there anything we could do to improve the experience?

BRYCE: There is literally nothing that could be done that would have improved my experience. Everyone was very helpful when I had questions as well as responded very quickly. Would like to again thank everyone that helped for this amazing experience.

Thanks to everyone who took part in the campaign!
