Winner Recap: Win a Trip to See Cavetown and Watch Soundcheck at The Greek Theatre in LA

August 6th, 2023

Madison R. from Arizona was the winner of the Propeller experience to "Win a Trip to See Cavetown and Watch Soundcheck at The Greek Theatre in LA" that took place in July 2023. Below are some of Madison's highlights from the experience.

We boarded our flight at 6 AM from Sky Harbor in Phoenix and landed at 8 which left us our entire first day to explore LA!

We ubered from the airport to the hotel, checked our bags and started our day by getting breakfast at "The Breakfast Club". We went down Hollywood Boulevard looking at the stars and checked out the FunkoPop store (to which they were sadly out of stock of stuff to make our own Funkos).

Knowing we had a long day the next day for the concert we went back to the hotel and checked into our room, where we could see the Hollywood sign from the window! We relaxed for a little bit before going downstairs to the hotel restaurant where we got this (delicious) pizza and went to the rooftop pool for a swim.

To round out the night, and because I have quite a bit of a sweet tooth, we went to Afters Ice Cream where I tried jasmine milk tea ice cream which was insanely good.

The day of the concert we were so excited to see soundcheck so we ran to get donuts before getting ready to head over there. Outside of the venue we met a few other people who were also seeing soundcheck with us who were so kind and made the experience even better. Once inside for the soundcheck we sat very close to the front to try and avoid the sun and got to see Cavetown, mxmtoon and Ricky Montgomery at work before the show which was so cool and interesting. It's an entirely different experience seeing all of the work that goes on behind the scenes and it increased my already super high admiration for the artists and crew even more.

Back outside the venue we got to meet grentperez who was incredibly kind to everyone waiting outside, and made sure to take photos and sign things for everyone. He stopped to spend time and talk with all of us which I absolutely appreciated.
