Propeller is launching experience after experience with many of the biggest events, influencers, and nonprofit groups in the country to raise awareness and support for the most critical issues.
Right now is an exciting time at Propeller.
We know we're not the only ones in this space. But we think we're different and that those differences are important. So we thought we'd take a moment to explain just how, while sharing with you a bit more about who we are and what we believe in.
Propeller was created by and is run by activists who believe that activism should be accessible to everyone.
We're reimagining what it means to be an activist and making it easy for everyone to get involved. Seriously, we mean everyone. Not just those people with time or the ones who are already involved. Our goal is to grow the movement by building relationships with those who aren't currently bengaged.
And we do more than just online experiences. We'll be onsite at events across the country this year running our program. You'll see Propeller members at marches and rallies. The list goes on...
We like to say that getting involved and creating social impact has never been easier or more fun and rewarding. We hope you agree.
Together we have the power to create change. Let's use it.
Below are the issues we'll be focusing on in 2020. It's not everything, but we think focus is important. As is actually taking a stand as a company and stating what you believe. We hope you agree. However, we're also open to feedback. So if you think something is missing that has to be on this list or if you think we got something wrong here, let us know.
As always, good luck and keep #propelling!
We support openness, accountability, and transparency from government and leaders and believe that democracy works best when every eligible voter is able to and does cast a vote.
We understand that time is running out to address climate change and make a just transition to a more sustainable society.
We can imagine a world where kids can go to school without fear of being shot. Common-sense gun laws like background checks just make sense. The amount of senseless gun violence that happens in the US has to stop. We can and must do better.
People are people. We are working to create a society where LGBTQ people receive basic equal rights and are able to be open, honest, and safe at home, work and in their communities.
We believe that diversity only makes us stronger. And when the government has the power to deny legal rights and due process to one vulnerable group, everyone's rights are at risk. You can't have justice for all without justice for immigrants.
SOCIAL & RACIAL JUSTICE
We see racism and inequality as systemic issues that have to be actively addressed at the institutional level in a way that cut across society. Democracy only works when all people are treated equally.
There's a mental health crisis. It's time to get serious about how we address mental health issues and that starts with making it safe for people to have an open conversation about their challenges. One in five Americans suffer from mental health issues. Many of them never reach out for help. We know that has to change.
Women's rights are human rights. There is no place for violence, discrimination, and institutional barriers for women in the US.
HEALTH, WELLNESS & RESEARCH
Investments in the power of science and research to find cures for some of the most terrible diseases facing humankind are essential. As are investments in personal health and well-being.
It's time to put an end to the needless suffering of animals. We believe a kinder and more humane society for animals is possible.
We believe in the right for workers to organize and in the power of collective action to serve as a counterweight to corporate interests. Democracy is stronger for it.
Like frequent flyer miles for doing good, Propeller is a community where members earn points for completing socially-conscious actions.
