Once Voted Happiest Country In the World, Venezuela Is Starving to Death

Propeller
Aug 3rd, 2016

In 2008, Venezuela was voted the happiest country in the world. Just 8 years later, the country is starving to death. Civilians are allowed to shop for food only one day a week– if there’s any left. The minimum salary is 33 dollars a month, or 20 cents an hour leading the country into a social, economical and political crisis.

Why? The Venezuelan government sold the country hatred for so long that it split in two, causing war and destruction.
